The First Annual Oakley Downhill Derby of Doom
I use to work across the street from Oakley and have a few friends that work over there - the following paragraph is very true!
"When you work at Oakley headquarters, you come to expect the unexpected. One day a Ferrari will be hauling ass around the traffic circle out front and the next an Olympic gold medalist will be signing autographs in the lobby. Like the brand itself, life at One Icon is far from ordinary."

X GAMES ENDURO X 2012 Final Highlight
I love EnduroCross! But watching the sport make its way into the XGames, reminded me about the DVD I bought back in 2009 of the Vegas event. As I was watching the XGames YouTube clip, I did a generic search on YouTube and sorted by "Most Viewed" and discovered this video that shows just how hard this sport is for the "regular bonafiede dirt bike guy."
So before you just pop out to your next event and want to flex mad skillz, just watch this video:
You better recognize!
And then - there is ERZBERG RODEO that can not be contained in a small format of a structural building:
And when that is all done and finished, wipe the sweat off and just know when RedBull has their name on it - OMG!!!
Social media to-do list: 10 tasks every PR pro should complete
Social media will suck up as much time as you let it. Balancing social media activity with the meaningful work and relationships we have in real life is vital.
One solution is to make a to-do list of social media tasks and stick to the priorities. Here are 10 on Becky Gaylord's list:

Make Team Conflict Work For Strategy
Being smart isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Having team leaders with intelligence is great, but for organizations to really get somewhere together it takes teamwork. In his book “The Advantage,” Patrick Lencioni addresses organizational health issues. He stresses the importance of healthy organizational environments as the trumping influencer of success over all other “smarter” competencies in areas such as marketing, finance, technology and even strategy.
In our view, meaningful strategic achievement does not happen in silos. The fulfillment of long-term objectives requires departments to act in unison at some point. It doesn’t matter if the goals are tracked with MyStrategicPlan or an MS Excel file (although we believe the former is more effective). What matters beyond all else is that leadership is ready to focus on the whole organization as their number one priority, and recognize when departmental protectionism is harming rather than helping achieve important organizational outcomes.

Gore Vidal dies: 10 of his best quotes on writing and language
Gore Vidal dies: 10 of his best quotes on writing and language
By Michael Sebastian | Posted: August 1, 2012
Gore Vidal passed away on Tuesday at his home in the Hollywood Hills. He died of complications of pneumonia. Vidal was 86.
The New York Times obituary offers a glimpse at his résumé:
“Mr. Vidal was, at the end of his life, an Augustan figure who believed himself to be the last of a breed, and he was probably right. Few American writers have been more versatile or gotten more mileage from their talent. He published some 25 novels, two memoirs and several volumes of stylish, magisterial essays. He also wrote plays, television dramas and screenplays. For a while he was even a contract writer at MGM. And he could always be counted on for a spur-of-the-moment aphorism, putdown or sharply worded critique of American foreign policy.”

Lexi Wills Riding her Honda XR100 at Wildomar OHV Park July 2012
My daughter has just starting riding and we are getting her ready for desert trail riding this winter. Wildomar is the closest place to Orange County for trail riding, plus with Wildomar OHV Park is on top of Santa Ana Mountains, thus its much cooler that the desert. That is the typical rule of dirt biking in Southern California, we ride desert in winter and mountains in the summer.

Why The Race For The White House Goes Through Facebook
Now that Mitt Romney is the clear front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination, we’re seeing both Romney and Obama’s campaigns ratchet up their advertising in an effort to reach male voters going into November. Historically, most of the political spend for a Presidential election would be for television ads, but with Facebook’s enormous reach, it now exceeds that of both broadcast and print media. This should come as no surprise. Nearly 2.65 million cable and satellite TV subscribers have canceled their service since 2008 and now rely solely on Web-based services, e.g., Boxee, Apple TV, Hulu. Which means the general public, and men in general, are spending less time in front of the television and more time multi-tasking on the Internet.According to the National Cable & Telecommunications Association, there are only 58 million basic cable customers in the U.S. as of December 2011. During that same time period, Facebook claimed nearly 155 million U.S. users, totaling 52% of the population. Of that, 13.7% are males ages 18-20 years old, 17.5% are 21-24, 13.2% are 25-29, 10.2% are 30-34, 15.3% are 35-44 and 10.4% are 45-54, according to Facebook’s data. Since Facebook’s reach far surpasses that of broadcast and print media, why are politicians still investing their campaign dollars so heavily across print and broadcast outlets?President Obama’s 2008 election campaign was just the tip of the iceberg when it came to leveraging social media, but it did underscore social media’s potential to drive donations, virally seed campaign messages, sway voters and foster a sense of community and momentum around a candidate. As we will soon learn, there are myriad opportunities for both the Romney and Obama campaigns to effectively utilize Facebook to reach male (and female) voters. The fact is, Facebook’s incredible targeting options (geo, demo, keyword, etc.), coupled with its massive worldwide usage volume make it one of the best venues for political campaign dollars.Facebook’s robust demographic and interest-targeting capabilities allow campaigns to diversify messages to specific voter segments. This allows them to deliver messages to a male sub-audience based on their interests and background, not just sending out blanket messages to a larger demographic or geographic segment. The ability to hyper-target men via Facebook is a far more cost-effective approach to political campaigns than other media. This is due to the fact that ad spend is not being wasted on audiences that are disinterested in the content and delivery of the information. Engaging male voters by appealing to their specific demographic, interests and issues is key, and Facebook makes that easier and more effective than ever. But, more importantly, Facebook’s hyper-targeting capabilities also make it more difficult for your opponent to track and monitor your campaign. For instance, if you’re targeting young male voters on Facebook between ages of 18-20 years old or fans of Ron Paul, your opponent or others in their camp most likely will not be able to see these ads unless they fall within those targeting parameters – and let’s be honest, what are the chances of that. With Facebook, not only are you spending ad dollars in the right places, but it is far more cost effective compared to broadcast and traditional media.

This area is a chunk of National Forest land located between 2 very popular National Parks. This paved road leads to some great camping, a perfect option for NOT camping inside the crowed National Parks. Turn onto well signed Big Meadow Rd. (off of Sequoia Hwy. 198). There is primitive camping all over this area & a few developed campgrounds along this route.

One-million Page Views on Axial's YouTube Channel
This past weekend the Axial YouTube Channel hit the million views milestone!
Channel Views: 1,004,354
http://www.youtube.com/user/axialvideos/videos
When I started work here, Axial had only 4-videos in roughly the 5-years they had been in business.
I have been here 17-months [June 2012] and we have added 20 videos. While Scott Roberts has edited all of these, I personally shot the raw footage for 15+ videos. Brad Dumont has shot pieces on several of the videos and also edited 8 or 9 of these himself! We also had a contribution from both Harley and Bulu Productions with a video from each. It’s not enough, but its a good start!
