ASCENT DOUGLAS TEAM CREATING A CLUSTER OF OUTDOOR EQUIPMENT COMPANIES
The Ascent Douglas Team is rapidly moving forward with plans to bring a contract cut-and-sew manufacturing facility to the Carson Valley. Its potential customers are the large numbers of companies that produce technical soft goods, such as backpacks, bags, tents, and the like for outdoor enthusiasts. Very few of those companies actually produce their own products, instead outsourcing their manufacturing. This often also means offshoring that work to Asia. Frequently, the projected cost savings from offshoring do not materialize and these companies are now looking for manufacturing facilities closer to home.
